Protecting our finest landscapes

We’re celebrating seventy years since the Act that led to the creation of our National Parks, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and National Trails. Last week a final Glover Report was published. This review of England’s landscapes takes measure at how well we’ve protected these special places since 1949, and what needs to be put in place to address the significant challenges facing our landscapes in the new millennium. We’re delighted that National Trails are properly recognised within the Review as an integral part of our national landscapes family

Small steps to cleaner air

Tomorrow is World Environment Day and globally we’re turning our attention to air pollution. Here in the South West, our coast gives us all the chance to breath in deep lungfuls of fresh air on a regular basis. But we mustn’t take it for granted. We all need to take action to protect our environment and there are things we can do right now to make a difference, like changing the way you get to the South West Coast Path.
