Growing up on the coast, artist Ben Lucas has always felt a deep connection to the sea. From childhood memories in Bucks Mills to a life now lived beside the South West Coast Path in Appledore, the beauty of the ocean has been a constant companion in both his life and work.

While the South West Coast Path is well known for its dramatic clifftop views, stunning landscapes and wildlife, it also offers a window into the region’s rich built heritage. We aim to make our Coast Path Connectors community walks as accessible as possible for as many people as possible. Where we can, we like to use public transport so that everyone can get to the start points easily and so that participants can do the walks by themselves at a later date.
