Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the South West Coast Path Association has recently launched an exciting new Coast Path Connectors project that aims to open up coastal walking to a range of new audiences. This project will help improve equity of access along the South West Coast Path by supporting local people in making the most of our amazing trail, for their health and well-being, through a network of new volunteers.
Handcrafted walking sticks are the perfect item to lead the way on our 50th anniversary commemorative Trailblazer Walk! A walking stick at each start point of the Trailblazer Walk (Minehead and South Haven Point) will travel around The South West Coast Path and act as the relay batons until their reunion in Plymouth on the final day of the Walk.
Artist Emma Scattergood is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Association by sketching 50 pictures along the South West Coast Path as she attempts to walk 630-miles over the year, and raise funds for the charity at the same time! We will be following her journey and sharing her work as part of our trailblazing celebrations.
