Strengthening the friendship trail: Volunteers visit the Bruce Trail in Ontario, Canada
Eight South West Coast Path volunteers enjoyed an unforgettable nine-day visit to Ontario, Canada, in autumn 2026, celebrating the Friendship Trail partnership with the Bruce Trail Conservancy. Highlights included Niagara Falls, walking the Cape Chin Friendship Trail, learning from First Nations guide Caley Nadjiwon Doran, and joining the hugely successful Bruce Trail Hiking Festival. The trip created lasting friendships, shared learning, and stronger international links, with hopes of welcoming Canadian hikers to the South West Coast Path in 2027.
