The charity is fortunate to have over 100 dedicated volunteers. This Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June) we are shining a light on our amazing volunteers, and finding out a little more about their roles, and what they love about volunteering at the South West Coast Path Association.
One of our wonderful volunteers, Sharon Thomas, shares her passion for the SWCP through the lens of accessibility. Sharon is an enthusiastic access advocate and collaborates with rangers, the National Trust and the SWCPA to promote well-marked and wheelchair-accessible routes.
Today, 5th December, is International Volunteers Day, and we’re sharing stories from three of our fantastic volunteers across the SWCP. We talk to Active Devon Volunteer Award winner, Jeanie Blackall of Healing Steps; Local Path Rep and Coast Path Connectors (CPC) Walk Leader, Paul Miller; and Area Rep and CPC Volunteer, Bryn.
Introducing Barney Munn, who is kindly volunteering at the Association in the communications team. Barney will be writing inspiring articles to encourage others to step out on the Coast Path as he shares his favourite places along the Trail as he walks to fulfil his ambition of completing the entire 630 miles of South West Coast Path.
